Areas of Expertise: Clinical pharmacology; functional medicine pharmacy models; medication optimization; integrative therapeutics
Read Full Bio

Dr. Brianne Marie Weiss, PharmD, is a licensed pharmacist and functional medicine practitioner with advanced training in root-cause assessment, clinical nutrition, and integrative therapeutics. She is the founder of BMW Pharmacy, the first pharmacy of its kind located on Long Island, NY. At BMW Pharmacy we integrate functional medicine, advanced lab testing, red-light therapy, wellness services, skincare consultations and boutique retail within a traditional dispensing pharmacy model.

After years of witnessing the limitations of the corporate pharmacy system where patient care was overshadowed by high prescription volume which leads to errors and little time for meaningful guidance, Dr. Weiss set out to build a model that puts patients first. Her approach prioritizes personalization, education, and clinical depth, ensuring that every
patient receives the time, attention, and root-cause strategy needed to create lasting transformation.

Through her innovative model, Dr. Weiss blends clinical pharmacology with evidence-based nutritional and lifestyle interventions to help patients reduce medication burden, optimize metabolic and hormonal function, and reclaim their long-term wellbeing. She is known for her ability to bridge conventional and functional medicine, bringing a deeply patient-centered, results-driven approach.

Accreditation Support

The Medical Advisory Board supports FMA’s commitment to high-quality continuing education by strengthening clinical alignment, content integrity, and accreditation readiness.

Educational programs are developed in accordance with recognized continuing education standards and are designed to support independent clinical judgment within a practitioner’s licensed scope and jurisdiction.

Why This Board Exists

Functional medicine education comes with real responsibility.

Practitioners today are caring for increasingly complex patients, working with advanced diagnostics, and practicing within evolving professional and regulatory expectations. In this environment, education must be not only innovative, but careful, grounded, and clinically responsible.

  • A level of rigor expected of a mature educational institution

This structure reflects FMA’s belief that credibility is built through clarity, responsibility, and respect for the work practitioners do every day.

Board Responsibilities

The Medical Advisory Board serves as a clinical sounding board for FMA’s educational programs. Its role is to offer guidance that supports quality, consistency, and professional responsibility.

  • Offering perspective on scope-of-practice considerations across licenses
  • Providing input on ethical, regulatory, and professional standards
  • Sharing insight on emerging trends in functional and preventive medicine
  • Supporting alignment across programs and certifications

The Board’s role is advisory only. It does not provide medical care, supervise practitioners, or manage operations. All clinical decisions remain the responsibility of the individual licensed practitioner, within their scope and jurisdiction.
